The Court Lobby is under construction and remains closed to the public. We anticipate the lobby to be completed by July 18th.
The Court Clerk’s office is only available by phone or email at this time:
Monday to Friday 8:30AM - 12:00PM & 1:00PM - 4:00PM
The clerk’s office does not answer the phones during the lunch hour.
If you have questions, want to make a payment, or need to file a court document, you may contact us during the hours noted above by phone 206-878-4597 or by email at [email protected].
If you are wanting to make a payment the court has a payment kiosk outside to make payments by credit card, or you can make your payment online, check or money order. Please do not send cash, please consider getting a money order.
The court has a drop box for payments, court documents outside the court house doors. Please make sure your name and citation number is on the document.
All criminal cases are being heard by telephonic or video hearings in our virtual courtroom. If you currently have a criminal case pending in our court, please contact your attorney to confirm your next virtual court hearing.
All cases involving traffic infractions or camera violations are being adjudicated by written statement or are being heard by telephonic or video hearings in our virtual courtroom. Defendants can appear by telephone or video. For questions regarding any infraction cases, you may contact the court by phone or email. If you need the zoom information, please contact the court clerk’s office at 206-878-4597.

The Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. The Municipal Court judge is authorized by Washington State statute to preside over criminal misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, traffic infractions and other City of Des Moines Code violations.
