Transportation Impact Fee Program
How do I calculate the Transportation Impact Fee?
Transportation Impact Fees will be determined by the City at the time the
impact fee is paid based on the
fee schedule in effect at the time of payment. Final fee calculations
will be completed by the City.
For many projects an estimate of your amount due can be self-calculated
using the following simple steps:
1. Determine the applicable Land Use Code (LUC) for your project from the
Fee Rate Schedule.
2. Calculate the “Units of Measure” for your project (i.e. square footage,
number of dwelling units, etc.)
3. Multiply the Units the impact fee rate. This is the impact fee.
4. Apply any applicable credits.
Sample Calculations
Example 1: One new home
1 dwelling x $3000/dwelling= $3000.00 Transportation Impact Fee
Example 2: Two new homes
2 dwellings x $3000/dwelling= $6000.00 Transportation Impact Fee
Example 3: A 6-lot residential development
6 dwellings x $3000/dwelling= $18,000 Project Transportation Impact Fee
Example 4: A 5,600 square foot light industrial facility (LUC 110, 140)
5,600 SF x $3.56/SF = $19,936 Project Transportation Impact Fee
Example 5: A 2,000 square foot fast food restaurant (LUC 934)
2,000 SF x $28.20/SF = $56,400 Project Transportation Impact Fee
Example 6: A 15,000 square foot supermarket (LUC 850)
15,000 SF x $11.38/SF = $170,700 Project Transportation Impact Fee
