Enhanced Public Safety Committee

The Enhanced Public Safety Committee is comprised of Des Moines citizen volunteers working towards the goal of making our city a safe place to live and work.

The committee believes that the cornerstone of attracting new business, residents, and tourists to our community is to first focus on making its citizens feel safe.

Working in tandem with the Des Moines Police Department and South King Fire & Rescue, the committee goals are to:

Promote public awareness of safety issues that concern both departments, ie.
• Ballot Issues - Levy Lid Lifts, etc.
• Emergency Management Plans
• Technology Enhancements
• Training Programs

Create a forum for citizens to give input to the committee on safety issues:
• Redondo Police Sub-Station
• Pacific Ridge Community Meetings
• Crime Free Rental Housing Program
• Neighborhood Watch Programs

Sponsor Informational Events to community groups:
• Pandemic Influenza Information Forums
• Boating Safety
• Citizens Police Academy

If you would like more information on some of these issues or would like Informational Forums presented to your group, contact us at info@publicsafe.org or visit our website www.publicsafe.org
