Mayor and City Council

The seven members of the City Council are elected at large and also appoint two members of the Council to serve as Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. City Council meetings are normally held on the first, second, and fourth Thursdays of each month. Click on the “Meetings and Agendas” link for more information about upcoming meetings. You are cordially invited to our next City Council meeting!

The four-year terms of the Councilmembers are staggered. The current terms of Council positions 2, 4, and 6 end December 31, 2003 and every four years thereafter. The current terms of Council positions 1,3,5, and 7 end December 31, 2006 and every four years thereafter. The terms for Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are for two years, with no limit in the number of terms a Councilmember can serve as Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem.
